Face to face appointments
- The appointment will take place in school during the school day/term.
- You will receive an email reminder on the day of your appointment giving you the time/period to attend.
- Go to the counselling room details of which will be included in the confirmation sent to you of your appointment. Along with the time/period of your appointment. If the door is open, please enter the room if the door is shut please wait.
- At your first appointment the counsellor will answer any questions you have.
- The working agreement/contract can also be discussed at this appointment or at any further appointment. You will receive a copy of the working agreement/contract as a link/pdf file that can be downloaded.
- If you need to cancel an appointment, please give as much notice as possible.
Online Video Calls
- The appointment will take place in school during the school day unless stated otherwise.
- You will receive an email reminder on the day of your appointment giving you the time/period to attend.
- Please go to the counselling room/classroom nominated for online appointments.
- Remember to take your laptop/chrome book/ipad/notebook or other device and log on in time for your appointment.
- The working agreement/contract can also be discussed at this appointment or at any further appointment. You will receive a copy of the working agreement/contract as a link/pdf file.
- Click the link and join the meeting with your counsellor.
- Please make sure you are alone and that any distractions are minimised, for example, pets, music, notifications.
- You are encouraged to use head/earphones.
- If you need to cancel an appointment, please give as much notice as possible.
Telephone
- The appointment will usually take place during the school day and usually take place at your home/permanent residence.
- You will receive an email reminder on the day of your appointment giving you the time/period of the call.
- At your first appointment the counsellor will answer any questions you have.
- The working agreement/contract can also be discussed at this appointment or at any further appointment. You will receive a copy of the working agreement/contract as a link/pdf file that can be downloaded.
- You will receive a reminder on the day of your appointment giving you the time/period that the counsellor will call.
- Please ensure you are in a room with good phone reception.
- Please make sure you are alone and that any distractions are minimised, for example, pets, music, screens.
- Try and make sure that you are not interrupted.
- It is recommended that you use head/earphones.
- If you do not answer they will phone again in 5 minutes or text you.
- If you need to cancel an appointment, please give as much notice as possible.
Text
- This may take place at home or in school.
- This will be done via your laptop/notebook/ipad.
- You will receive an email reminder on the day of your appointment giving you the time of the text appointment.
- At your first appointment the counsellor will answer any questions you have.
- The working agreement/contract can also be discussed at this appointment or at any further appointment. You will receive a copy of the working agreement/contract as a link/pdf file that can be downloaded.
- You will receive a reminder on the day of your appointment giving you the time/period that the counsellor will call.
- Please make sure you are alone and that any distractions are minimised, for example, pets, music, screens.
- Try and make sure that you are not interrupted.
- If you are at home, please make sure you have your device open and you are logged in before your appointment time.
- Do not allow other people to read the messages or reply for you.
- If either you or the counsellor is aware that you are not alone, the session should be stopped as quickly as possible.
- All text is deleted at the end of the session.
- If you need to cancel an appointment, please give as much notice as possible.
